Popular question:
How do I learn to paddle and can I too use the course at Wausau? In 2009, Wausau Whitewater partnered with Bear Paw Outdoor Adventure Resort to offer training during recreational releases. See recreational release or training page for information. Advanced registration is needed to assure that we have adequate instructors available for the releases. 2010 Dates and classes will be online soon!
Spectators: Even if you're not a paddler, we invite you to come down and watch the competitors in both freestyle and slalom show off their skills at competitions and during recreational releases or training. While you are there, eat tasty treats from our vendors or support Wausau Whitewater by buying t-shirts and merchandise. Come down and visit… See you on the river!

Thank you for helping make 2009 one of our best years ever as we look forward to an even more exciting year in 2010!
Our schedule, will run from late April through mid September and will feature all the releases, training and competitions you have come to expect and more: more recreational releases, more competitions, and a wider variety of training opportunities than ever before - as we expand the successful program piloted with Bearpaw in 2009.
The full season schedule can be found on the Schedule page
There are also other important changes as well. For one, Julie Walraven, who has served us with so much heart and commitment is leaving to concentrate fully on her Design Resume business. She has promised to stop by and say hello (as well as to answer operational questions that will undoubtedly come up). We wish her well and expect much success coming her way!
A new put-in deck has been poured upstream of the railroad bridge (river left), hopefully addressing both erosion and the access bottleneck that we have at times experienced in that location.
Buy your season's
pass for 2010: 13 releases for a total of $95.
We look forward to seeing you at Wausau! 2010 Season Schedule
Now you can read our Wausau Whitewater 2009 book online. Enjoy! Thank you to all of the many sponsors and friends of Wausau Whitewater who make this publication possible, year after year! Winning Entry Logo for Junior Worlds
created by Todd Malhoit of Original Sports Logos, www.originalsportslogos.com
The world comes back to Wausau in 2012. Wausau Kayak/Canoe Corporation is pleased to announce that Todd Malhoit has won the competition to design a logo for the 2012 International Canoe Federation (ICF) Junior Canoe Slalom World Championships event, a major international competitive event to be hosted by Wausau Whitewater in Wausau, Wisconsin in the summer of 2012.
Karla Westcott, Chair of the 2012 event “When the committee was discussing the Junior Worlds we felt the event needed a special logo, the contest was launched to attract creative entries. Selecting the winning logo from the submissions was difficult, but the logo by Malhoit caught our attention with the red, white, and blue theme!"
For the past few years, 3M and River View Construction have generously donated to Wausau Whitewater. We want to thank both companies for their support which helped Whitewater Park become an even better place to paddle!
We thank the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin for their tremendous help in 2008 with future course enhancements!
